Yordano Ventura on the field is pretty understood around the league as a bad boy, but off the field he might be a different person.
Yordano Ventura was just recently ejected from a game for throwing at Manny Machado. Of course Machado charged the mound, and both players were handed suspensions by Major League Baseball. This is really nothing new for the Royals and Ventura, as he’s had multiple run ins with Machado, as well as Mike Trout, and Adam Eaton as some other notables.
But as I always preach, you really can’t judge a guy’s character by what you see on the television, especially when they’re between the lines. Some guys are competitive to a fault, and often they’re widely judged by their on field displays.
According to Fox 4 Kansas City, Yordano Ventura made a couple young fans days (and business) when he surprisingly stopped by their lemonade stand. These kids had a full set up, slinging baseball cards, lemonade, and sweet tea. He didn’t introduce himself until one of the young boys recognized him. He gave the little business man a fist bump, bought a drink, and left a hefty tip.
Well done, sir.
