I’ve been lucky enough to watch first hand the growth of Phenom. A couple of ex ball players from my hood of Cleveland, OH set out on a mission to create a platform for athletes to show off their style and hustle. It’s an app that allows athletes to show off, to connect with other athletes, and my favorite…to check out the gear everyone else is using.
Right now about 20% of Phenom’s over 50,000 users are baseball players. That’s over 10,000 ball players posting their facilities, their uni’s, and all their gear. (those are my numbers, not Phenom’s so don’t quote me on that, but I believe they’re close). I think ball players have the advantage when it comes to on & off the field swag in terms of gear. I obviously don’t play anymore, but I’ll still hop on and upload some golf gear, or some workout gear. I more so just love going on and watching others grind. Those that are still playing. There’s something nostalgic about seeing high school and college ball players living the dream, posting from the cages on Friday nights, or posting their new combo of home/road gloves.
Phenom also integrates with Spotify. One of the most common tweets I get this time of year going into the Spring, is asking for walk up song suggestions. Well look no further. If you’re looking for this years walk up song, some recommendation on the newest cleats or hottest batting gloves, Phenom is your place. I’ll drop some links here to download it from the App Store. Android users, I got you too. Make sure you follow @PhenomApp on Twitter and @Phenom App on Instagram. And by the way, this is not a paid advertisement or post, just for the fam.
