Who is Trevor Story?

Who is Trevor Story

Trevor Story is the guy that’s hit 6 home runs in his first 4 career MLB games with the Colorado Rockies, duh.

We all know that part by now. But who is this guy and where have the Rockies been hiding this Trevor Story dude?

The 6’1 180 lb infielder was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the first round of the 2011 draft out of Irving High School in Irving, Texas. He’s spent his entire professional career with the Rockies since rookie ball at the age of 18. None of his stat lines throughout his minor league career really stand out. In fact, there’s not much about him that does stand out.

Except for the fact that he just became the first player in MLB history to homer in each of his first 4 games let alone 6, of course?!

In 5 seasons in the minor leagues, he hit .263 with 70 homers in 537 games. Nothing wrong with his line there, but really nothing to predict he’d be taking over for Troy Tulowitzki as Colorado’s stud shortstop.

Even Google is a little behind on who this Trevor Story kid is…

Google Trevor Story

Everyone was a little confused late in 2015 when the Rockies dealt Tulowitzki to Toronto seemingly out of nowhere. Now they got Jose Reyes in return, but maybe Colorado knew something we all didn’t. Maybe they were seeing a different Story.

Does Trevor Story remain the staple in the Rockies offense throughout the year? Well someone with these kind of power abilities can surely have a good time hitting at Coors Field for an entire season. No he won’t hit 230 home runs this year, as his current pace suggests, but confidence can go a long way for a young guy with a ton of potential in the box. Just how impressive is what he’s done so far? Take a look.

Some goofy stats and comparisons being thrown around, but gotta love it. There’s only one way to find out what the rest of his season will look like. So just throw him in your DraftKings lineups, and grab your popcorn.
