There is arguably nothing more terrifying to witness on a baseball field than a pitcher taking a line drive to the head. Guys get injured all the time, but in an era of the game where we’re seeing exit velocities of up to 120 mph, pitchers are most at risk when one of these is headed their way.
Robbie Ray took a line drive to the head off the bat of of Cardinals Luke Voit. This 94 mph fast ball was smoked off the bat, and I expect an exit velo of 100+ on that one. Ray’s Arizona teammates rushed to the mound as soon as it happened.

He was removed from the game and will undergo tests immediately. Nobody wants to see this, even Luke Voit took a knee at the mound to make sure he was okay.
