Rays Prospect Brent Honeywell Doesn’t Like Bryce Harper’s Hat

Bryce Harper kicked his MVP-defense campaign off with a bang on Monday, hitting a towering dong that helped lead the Nationals to a 4-3 victory over the Braves. After the game, he gave a postgame interview wearing this “make baseball fun again” hat.

Bryce Harper Make Baseball Fun Again

I loved this move. There’s no doubt that Harper is one of the most polarizing players in the game, which makes it entirely fitting that he would be the one to wear this hat. I’m sure Goose Gossage suffered a heart attack after seeing Bryce’s hat. From what I saw, it seemed that most people were in support of the “Make Baseball Fun Again” slogan and wanted to figure a way to get their hands on one.

Rays prospect Brent Honeywell, however, wasn’t a fan.

I understand where Honeywell is coming from, but I still think his tweets are dumb. Baseball obviously needs more characters and personalities like Harper, and less like Brent Honeywell. By the way, Honeywell is a pitcher. That doesn’t surprise me even in the slightest. Hitters want more flair and fun in the game, and pitchers want to continue to “respect the game”. You can respect the game and still flip the shit out of your bat after going yard. Honeywell seems like the kind of pitcher who yells at the hitter for admiring a home run. He’s probably a Madison Bumgarner wanna-be.
