Pittsburgh Pirates fans have scripted chants for tonights wild card game

PNC Park is a crazy place to play a playoff game, as you heard from Andrew McCutchen’s piece in the Players Tribune that we linked to in this article. http://baseballfam.com/cubs-pirates-wildcard-preview-infographic/. But the Pirates don’t make this place crazy by accident. For tonight’s game we caught a glimpse of their fan’s “playbook” to get rowdy, featuring detailed scripted chants for tonight’s wild card game. You know the people of Pittsburgh are great, but they might be the type to need a little extra direction 😉

Inning 1: Constantly chant pitcher’s last name

Inning 2: Constantly make noise when pitcher is standing on the mound.

Inning 3: Totally quiet until pitcher starts wind up, then MAKE NOISE

Inning 4: Constantly chant pitcher’s first name

Inning 5: Totally quiet until pitcher starts windup, then yell “arrrrrrrr”

Inning 6: Constantly chant pitcher’s name

Inning 7: Totally quiet until pitcher starts his wind up, then whistle or yell in a high voice

Inning 8: Constantly make noise when pitcher is standing on the mound. Plus everyone has both arms up to the left, moving right when pitcher releases the ball

Inning 9: Constantly make noise when pitcher is standing on the mound.

I’m not a fan

To be totally honest I’m not a fan of this and I think it’s pretty lame. Who wants to turn watching a playoff baseball game into going to a cheerleading convention? I give it ’til the 3rd inning that this shit lasts. What do you think?
