Orioles’ Ramon Ramirez Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Ramon Ramirez was an infielder in the Baltimore Orioles minor league system. Orioles had signed Ramirez as a free agent in July 2014, he was 23 years old.

Orioles VP of Baseball Operations, Dan Duquette, released this statement regarding the death of Ramon Ramirez.

Our entire organization is deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic death of Ramon Ramirez. As a member of the Orioles organization, Ramon worked tirelessly to make the most of his opportunity to play professional baseball. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and coaches as we mourn this unimaginable loss.

MASN reported that Ramirez was riding on the back of a motorcycle, with his girlfriend up front. They were struck by a vehicle that caused a broken leg for his girlfriend, and cost Ramirez his life.
