Can’t think of a more wild series of events than what happened with Max Scherzer tonight. In the second inning of Nationals @ Miami, Max Scherzer stepped up to the plate doing what you’d expect a pitcher to do, show bunt. But my guy had other plans, pulled back and went yard for a 3-run bomb to left. #PitchersWhoRake
Max Scherzer shows bunt…then hits 3 run bomb. First major league home run. pic.twitter.com/ffpWGq8lIw

As if it couldn’t get more wild than that, Max Scherzer came out to throw in the bottom of the 2nd, and left the game before the inning started with a mystery injury.
This is bizarre. Max Scherzer is coming out of this game. Came out to throw warmup pitches, then walked off and said "I can't go."

Scherzer is one of the premier competitors in the game, it’s surely not like him to pull himself for a minor injury. No word on what happened yet.
