Manny Machado, third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, was selected third overall in the 2010 MLB Draft. The Orioles knew they would get a great player out of him, but they didn’t fully expect him to become the star he is today.
In 2013, Machado appeared in his first MLB All-Star Game. He led the league with a crazy 51 doubles. It was a huge outbreak season for Manny. Even though he was playing at an exceptional level and exceeding expectations, he wasn’t at his best.
He went on to win a Gold Glove, a Platinum Glove, and appeared in the All-Star Game. He was without a doubt, one of the best defensive third basemen in baseball.
In 2015 Machado gave his all. He ended the season with 35 HR, smashing his past career high of 14, as well as batting in 86. He made another All-Star appearance, and won yet another Gold Glove.
Now in 2016, Machado is one of the most well known players in the game. This year alone he’s already gone yard 10 times, and is making some web gem worthy plays at third. He looks like he is in his best form, and I thought it couldn’t get much better then last year for Machado.
It looks as if Machado will once again, destroy expectations set for him. He has 46 hits, and a batting average of around .365.
Machado is one of my favorites to win AL MVP this year. His talent is definitely showing so far this year, he shows no signs of slowing down.
Don’t even get me started on how Manny is only 23. It is absurd, he is so young and already one of the best.
Jesus this kid can play.
