Lester Goes Yard, Game Wasn’t Televised

As a Boston Red Sox fan, I love Jon Lester. Always have. The day he was traded to Oakland was the day a little piece of me died. I’ve always wanted the best for Lester, and I’d much prefer seeing him pitch in Chicago than Oakland. Apparently, Lester went deep in a preseason game against the Rockies today.

I love it. Absolutely love it. Although, the Chicago Cubs tweeted that this happened on the one day the game wasn’t televised. Which means unless you were at the game in Arizona, you didn’t see it happen.

Shortly after the first tweet, the Cubs then tweeted that they would do anything in their power to get a video of this occurrence. Many fans replied in rage that they had to “See it to believe it”. The poor guy. Lester goes yard for the first time ever and the game wasn’t televised. Yes, I know, it’s just a preseason game. But shit, if I hit a bomb as a pitcher I’d sure want the whole damn world to witness it.

I’m sure a fan attending the game got the Lester homer on video, and it will probably go viral any minute now. Keep doing your thing out there, Jon. Pitch good this year, get rid of the “yips”, and it will be a season to remember.
