Kyle Schwarber Gets Standing Ovation at Wrigley

Kyle Schwarber

In case you missed it, the Cubs young stud bomb-dropper Kyle Schwarber went down with a knee injury after a collision with Dexter Fowler in the left center gap during a game in Arizona. Doctors soon revealed he’d miss the entire 2016 season with a torn ACL and LCL in that knee that took impact during the collision.

The Cubs are on a hot streak, and opened up at Wrigley Field on Monday with a come back win over the Reds on the back of an Addison Russell 3-run home run.

Cubs fans are a tight group, but it’s safe to say that everyone around the league was a little upset when they heard the Kyle Schwarber news. He’s a fun player to watch.

During the Opening Day pre-game ceremonies at Wrigley, the Cubs ended player introductions with a quick video on the new video board of Schwarber’s home run last year that landed on top of the scoreboard. Cubs fans followed with a standing ovation as their young slugger hobbled onto the field in full uniform and crutches.
