FILE - This is an Oct. 3, 2009, file photo showing Seattle Mariners' Ken Griffey Jr. hitting a solo home run on a pitch from Texas Rangers' Tommy Hunter during the fourth inning of a baseball game in Seattle. Ken Griffey Jr. seems assured of election to the Baseball hall of Fame on the first try Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, possibly with a record vote of close to 100 percent. Mike Piazza, Jeff Bagwell and Tim Raines also were strong candidates to gain the 75 percent needed for baseball's highest honor. (AP Photo/John Froschauer, File)

Ken Griffey Jr. made a living making our jaws drop. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years since we last saw that beautiful swing in action. But today he set a couple more records. The number of Ken Griffey Jr Hall of Fame votes is astonishing. With 99.3% of the vote, all but 3 people voted him in. That’s an all time record. The Kid also became the first player ever in the Hall of Fame that was drafted #1. Unbelievable.

But there might be one more record to be broken in July. Will he go into the hall with a backwards hat?
