So the trained bald eagle flying around Dodger Stadium pregame just flew past its handler, out of the park and didn't come back #Murica

This is what America is all about, right? That bald eagle didn’t want to spend the rest of his life flying around for dumb humans to gawk at him. It’s all about the pursuit of happiness. So on July 4th at Dodger Stadium, this particular bald eagle chose freedom.

He just flew straight past his handler and right out of centerfield. That is easily the most American thing I have ever seen. Sometimes you’ve got to go against what you’ve been trained for, and venture out on your own. We can all learn a thing or two from this guy.
Update: The LA Zoo confirmed that the feathery fella made it home safely. Word is he was waiting by the trainer’s van, which is more impressive than anything they could’ve have done by staying in the park.
Happily, our bald eagles are fine + safely back at the Zoo. Although he missed his mark, Chinook waited by the van for his trainer
