Thursday night’s game at Petco Park became the venue for the newest Padre fan being born into the world.
We welcomed a baby boy to the world in Palm Court Plaza earlier this evening. First baby to be born at Petco Park! 👶

Apparently with no time to get to a hospital (I really don’t understand how that happens, but whatever) the baby had to be born in “Palm Court Plaza.”
At least the kid got to witness the last 6 innings of the game, I think? Not that Padres baseball isn’t enough to drive even a newborn insane. The Friars actually won the game on an Alexi Amarista walk off, so the kid probably picked the best possible day of the season to be born. I’m expecting an ESPN film on this kid in 16 years.
Loving that “Born to be Wild” is playing while Petco announced that a baby was born in the Palm Court Plaza today.

I imagine it looking something like this. You think Derek Norris volunteered to deliver?
