Three Auburn Softball players Haley Fagan, Makayla Martin, and Brittany Maresette have been suspended after being arrested for possession of marijuana on 4/20

FloSoftball – Auburn police have confirmed that Tigers senior shortstop Haley Fagan, sophomore pitcher Makayla Martin, and freshman Brittany Maresette were arrested around 12:47 Thursday morning for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

It’s been one hell of a year for the #5 ranked Auburn softball team. Remember when Haley Fagan had that little altercation with Florida head coach Tim Walton in the handshake line post-game?

Fagan shoving Florida’s coach, their assistant coach resigning, and now this. This is the most Auburn softball has ever been in the news for sure. Sad considering this seemed like a big year for the Tigers to do some damage in the Women’s College World Series.

Haley Fagan, Makayla Martin, and Brittany Maresette were busted celebrating 4/20 around 1AM this morning. Of all the poor judgment made in this situation, the most shocking might be them wearing Auburn Softball gear. We always made it a point in college to NEVER wear our baseball gear out on the weekends. Not that it would have made a huge difference in this case, though.

Haley Fagan, the redshirt senior is hitting .323 / .447 / .538 on the year at shortstop. Makayla Martin the sophomore pitcher has a 2.05 ERA in 199.1 innings pitched. Brittany Maresette is a freshman hitting .143 in just 7 AB on the year.

Two pretty valuable members of the top ranked Auburn Tigers softball squad here. The players have been suspended indefinitely. I’ll be interested in seeing how long they’re out for with the conference schedules wrapping up here soon.
